Santa Ana, CALIFORNIA – According to reporting from CBS Los Angeles, a father of 3 was killed when he was struck by a speeding vehicle on Thursday, October 25. The collision took place on South Cedar Street near Occidental.
It was around 7:30pm when Jose Martinez, 68, was hit while walking down a narrow residential street. The police say the 19 year old suspect was driving a BMW and didn’t see the man when the collision occurred.
Martinez was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police spoke with the driver who stayed on the scene, and believe drugs or alcohol were not involved. Investigators are determining if the suspect was street racing.
