Aliso Viejo, CALIFORNIA – A bicyclist died at the hospital on Wednesday, January 30, following a hit and run collision earlier that morning. The crash happened at Wood Canyon Dr. and Westridge Dr. in Aliso Viejo.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash at 6:40 am. Officers found the injured bicyclist on the scene. EMS transported the man to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Police identified the man as Michael David Tomlinson, 51, of Aliso Viejo.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the crash but deputies located his car a short distance from the accident. A Sheriff’s Department tweet identified the driver as 38-year-old Rogelio Martinez Cuin of Lake Forest. They arrested Cuin and booked him into the Orange County Central Men’s Jail on suspicion of felony hit and run and vehicular manslaughter.
